Brother of Gaza doctor who lost 9 kids: Israeli drones knew they were children

The brother of a Gaza doctor said that Israeli drones clearly observed a household in Khan Yunis and recognized the occupants as children before an airstrike.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The brother of a Gaza doctor—whose nine children were killed in an Israeli airstrike on their home in Khan Yunis—claims that Israeli drones clearly observed the household and recognized that the occupants were children before launching the attack. He explained that Hamdi Al-Najjar had dropped his wife at the hospital before returning home, where his children were playing in the yard, and that the drones precisely identified them as children, according to Ali Al-Najjar’s account given to Press TV’s correspondent in Gaza.

Recalling the moments leading up to the tragedy, Ali noted that his brother had been preparing a modest meal for the children, who had gathered on the ground floor of their home.

He recounted that moments before the children could eat, an explosion was heard in the area. Ali immediately called his brother but was unable to reach him, and upon arriving at the scene, they discovered that warplanes had hit the home with two missiles.

Ali further described that his sister-in-law, Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar—who was on duty at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis that Friday treating children injured in previous Israeli airstrikes—saw the bodies of her own children being brought in, with seven arriving one after another.

That day, the family lost nine of their ten children when the Israeli airstrike completely destroyed their home, and the remains of two of the children have not yet been recovered.

Ali described the unimaginable ordeal endured by Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar, explaining that the first missile failed to detonate, allowing the father to rush to rescue his children; however, a second missile then struck, devastating the building and engulfing both the children and their father.

Upon arriving at the scene, he reported that they discovered seven small, charred bodies that were barely recognizable.

Hamdi, who was a physician himself, suffered critical injuries and is currently receiving treatment in intensive care.

Ali recalled that the oldest child, Gerya, was only 12 years old, while the youngest, Sidor—born amid this genocidal violence—had not yet reached six months of age.

He condemned the actions by stating that the Israeli occupation deliberately assassinated his brother’s children, exposing the tragedy to the entire world.

Additionally, he called on the international community to assist in evacuating his brother and his remaining 11-year-old son so they could receive lifesaving treatment abroad.
